The 2010 National Famine Commemoration was held on Sunday May 16th, in the village of Murrisk, at the foot of Croagh Patrick.
A programme of lectures and events was organised for the week leading up to the event. The programme illustrated the historical aspects of Famine in Ireland, through Art, Archaeology, History, Literature, Song and Music, and highlights the stark realities of famine prevalent today in many parts of the world.
